His specialty is mechanical engineer, which he learned at the Polytechnical Institute (modern-day Moldovan Technical University). After graduation, he worked for various transportation firms. In 1999 he was promoted to the management of Baza Transport Auto 7 SA, a private passenger service.
In 2011, Mr. Maxim enters politics with the Moldovan Communists Party. He got elected as a member of the Stefan Voda district council and later was picked up as its chairman.
In 2018, then president Igor Dodon, a Socialist, awarded the Civic Merit medal to Vasile Maxim, for “achievements in the transportation sector.” At the October 2019 local elections, Mr. Maxim was the top name in the Socialist list of candidates running for the Stefan Voda district council. On 26 November he became the chairman of the council.
