His first official job was financial inspector’s. Then Arcadie Afteniuc worked for five years in the Financial Inspection Department of the Ministry of Finance. In 2002 he took over as the chief of the finance division of the Penitentiary Department within the Ministry of Justice, for ten years.

Between 2012 and 2019 he acted as the chief for logistics and procurement at the Border Police. After a brief existence as a deputy commander of the Carbineer Inspectorate-General, in February 2020 Mr. Afteniuc was appointed as deputy commander of the Police Inspectorate-General.
