Biography
In 1999, upon graduation from the History Faculty of the Moldovan State University, Artur Gumeniuc applied for a job in the domestic security service SIS, working there until 2017. His career at SIS started as an operative and ended as chief of department.
In March 2017 President Igor Dodon named Mr. Gumeniuc as his adviser for defense and security, and gave him the post of secretary of the Supreme Security Council. Two years later the Socialists and the ACUM bloc formed a new government and Artur Gumeniuc won a confidence vote in the Parliament on 25 June 2019 to return to SIS as its director.
