His career kicked off in 1999, as a legal consultant in a company, before taking a bailiff’s job at the Ciocana District Court in Chisinau. In 2002 Ghenadie Pavliuc appeared as the deputy director of the Court Enforcement Department within the Ministry of Justice - first as part of the Ciocana division and later as part of the Riscani division.

In 2005 Mr. Pavliuc got employed as a judge in the Donduseni Court and three years later he was promoted to the deputy chairman of this institution. In 2011 the judge takes a seat in the Buiucani District Court in the capital and several years later he was appointed the deputy chairman of the Chisinau Court.

In November 2015 Ghenadie Pavliuc attracted the public attention with a ruling concerning a politician. He examined a request from the Ministry of Justice that sought recognition of a Romanian court ruling. In that latter ruling Romanian magistrates demanded the extradition of Democratic Party lawmaker Valeriu Guma in order to serve a four-year sentence for abuse of office and corruption. Mr. Pavliuc turned down the extradition plea but recognized the verdict; he ultimately handed down a conditional four-year sentence to Mr. Guma.

A RISE Moldova investigation shows that at a time when he owned a two-storey mansion in the capital Ghenadie Pavliuc was one of the judges who received cheap apartments from the state. The magistrate took possession of a subsidized apartment in August 2017 and in early 2020 he sold it.
