Olga Poalelungi has a degree in law and is a member of the Moldovan Bar Association. She is also a researcher in demographics and migration. In September 2012 Mrs. Poalelungi took over as the head of the Migration and Asylum Bureau of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Prior to this job she had held public assignments at the Ministry of Justice, the Constitutional Court, the Presidential Administration, and the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family.
In September 2018, in her status of director of the Migration and Asylum Bureau, Mrs. Poalelungi signed the official papers that were used to expel 18 Turkish refugees - including Orizont school teachers - from Moldova.
