Vadim Ceban is an economy specialist. He graduated in 2002 from the Moldovan Academy of Economic Studies and in 2011 he defended his doctoral degree in economics at the Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu, Romania.

In 2005-2009 and 2010-2013, Mr. Ceban worked in various positions at the Ministry of Economy and in-between those periods he acted as the director-general of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). He also worked as the executive manager of Cariera Micauti, a quarry company.

In 2015, when Irina Vlah took over as the governor of the Gagauzian autonomy in southern Moldova, Mr. Ceban filled in the post of the first deputy chairman of the Executive Committee, the autonomy’s regional government.

In the following years Mr. Ceban became a key ally of Governor Vlah, advising her on economic matters and representing the Vlah administration in the People’s Assembly, the autonomy’s regional parliament.

For a while Mr. Ceban worked in parallel in a EU-funded project for the local authorities in Gagauzia.

In September 2019, Vadim Ceban was appointed the chief manager of Moldovagaz, a subsidiary of Gazprom.
