Nicolae Mindru is a teacher and worked for more than 25 years in the education system. He started as a gymnasium teacher in the village of Curatura in Soldanesti District and later got to run the local school as its director.

During 1993-1996, Mr. Mindru acted as the director of Salcia gymnasium (middle-class school), and the next three years he worked as a methodologist at the Soldanesti district education department. In 1999, he took over the top administrative job at the primary school in Soldanesti town, and stayed there for 13 years.

In 2013, Nicolae Mindru was appointed as the director at the Soldanesti postal office, and in 2015 he was elected a member of the Soldanesti district council, representing the Moldovan Democratic Party. In 2016, Mr. Mindru quit work in both places – postal office and district council – in order to fill in the post of head of the district education department.

The local elections in October 2019 pushed Nicolae Mindru to the position of member of the Soldanesti district council, and in December same year he was elected as the chairman of this body. Yet he didn’t resign from the education department; instead, he signed an order to suspend himself for the period of being the district’s chairman.

Even worse: Mr. Mindru awarded to himself a 15% single indemnity from the public budget, citing “the need to compensate the interruption of labor relationships.”
