A biologist and hunting specialist, Grigore Filipov’s career kicked off in the role of director of the Hunters and Fishermen Society in Dubasari city. Then he managed the Moldovan Society of Hunters and Fishermen for almost 40 years.

His political entry happened in 2015. He was elected a member of the Dubasari district council as a candidate of the Moldovan Socialists Party (PSRM). He represented PSRM at the February 2019 parliamentary polls, too, running for a seat on behalf of the uninominal constituency #47 representing Camenca, Ribnita, Dubasari, and Grigoriopol. With a deficit of more than 5,000 votes, he emerged the second behind independent candidate Alexandru Oleinic.

Filipov is a member of PSRM’s national council. The autumn 2019 parliamentary polls pushed him into the seat of chairman of Dubasari District. In January 2021, the Dubasari district council suspended Mr. Filipov for 30 days over a probe into his mishandling of the post, incompetence, and a number of irregularities. The Criuleni Court canceled that decision later.
