Nicolae Craiu joined the public service as prosecutor’s assistant in 1990, in the city of Cahul. He held that position for six years. For one year he worked as a senior specialist at the Cahul Tribunal and then Mr. Craiu took a post of judge in the Center District Court in the capital.

In 2004 Nicolae Craiu was promoted to the Economic Court of Appeal and in 2012 he moved to a similar job in the Chisinau Court of Appeal. The same year the president of Moldova awarded him the Civic Merit medal.

In 2016, Mr. Craiu advanced to the Supreme Court of Justice, retaining the position of judge there until the age of 65. This appointment by transfer was signed by then Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu.
