In March 2020, Valentina Coptilet competed in a contest the Parliament organized in order to appoint his representatives in the High Council of Magistrates (CSM). Along with other three candidates she earned a seat for a four-year term.
Mrs. Coptilet holds a doctoral degree in law and all her life she worked in the academic environment. Her career started as a teacher at the School #28 in the capital. She lectured there for seven years and then worked at the Telecommunications College for three years. In 1995 Mr. Coptilet advanced to the post of lecturer at the State University of Moldova (USM) and later she was promoted to associate professor and deputy dean at the USM Law Department.
In 2013 Mrs. Coptilet got hired at the University of European Political and Economic Studies, which was governed by her former colleague at USM, Gheorghe Avornic. There Valentina Coptilet immediately took over as a deputy rector.
Valentina Coptilet owns a small trade business which she opened in 1999. The firm, Crimantis SRL, is registered in one of her residences - a building of some 100 square meters in the downtown Chisinau. Mrs. Coptilet said the house was a heirdom.
