A journalist by training, Vasile Nastase headed the publication „Glasul Natiunii” (Nation's Voice) for almost 30 years. Since 2017 he’s been the producer and anchor of the political show „60 minutes with Vasile Nastase” on Jurnal TV.
Mr. Nastase has been active politically since the late 1980s. In 1990 he was elected into the first democratically elected Parliament of Moldova. He was also one of the leaders of the national liberation movement called the Moldovan People’s Front. In 1999 he joined the National Liberal Party under the leadership of Mircea Rusu and headed its branch in the capital until 2002; that year the National Liberal Party fused with other like-minded parties.
In 2015 Vasile Nastase takes part in the formation of the Dignity and Truth Platform, which later on was reformed from a citizenry organization into a political party. At October 2019’s parliamentary elections he was a candidate on behalf of the ACUM bloc in the Constituency #33 in the capital, winning a seat in the Parliament.
He is the elder brother of the Dignity and Truth party leader Andrei Nastase, who also earned a place in the Parliament, in the same constituency.
