Nadejda Toma

Nadejda Toma’s career began in the early 1990s, working first as a translator, then registrar, coordinator specialist, and finally chief of the secretariat and presidium of the Supreme Court of Moldova. In 1996 she was assigned as an adviser and consultant of the chairman of the Chisinău Tribunal.
Mrs. Toma joined the ranks of magistrates in 2001 and obtained a job at the Ialoveni Court. Ten years later she took over the chairmanship in this institution.
In 2014, Nadejda Toma moved into an office in the Supreme Court of Justice and in 2018 she was elected chairwoman of the disciplinary board of the Higher Council of Magistrates.
On 22 February 2017 the Supreme Court of Justice maintained the nine-year prison sentence for Vladimir Filat, a former prime minister accused of corruption and abuse of office. Nadejda Toma was among the judges who approved that sentence.
