Stela Macari is a graduate from the Moldovan Technical University as a building engineer; she worked at that academic establishment as a lecturer upon graduation. During the period 1999-2003 she worked at the textiles company Ialtexgal-Aurica SA as an engineering technologist and then as the production manager.

In 2007 Stela Macari got employed at CSM Uniform SRL, another textile company, and worked there until 2019. She entered the Parliament from the national list of ACUM (the Dignity and Truth Platform + the Action and Solidarity Party), where her name was in the 21st position.

She became active politically in 2015 during the protest rallies organized by the Dignity and Truth Platform. In 2017 Stela Macari was elected as deputy chairwoman of the women’s wing and Ciocana district branch of the party.
