A lawyer by training, Fadei Nagacevschi had worked for more than ten years in two law offices. At Nagacevschi & Partners he was a fellow co-worker with his father Vitalie Nagacevschi, a former Liberal Democratic lawmaker and chair of the parliamentary commission for investigation of the April 2009 riot in the capital. The other office is Lebedinsky & Partners, where Mr. Nagacevschi worked with Maxim Lebedinschi - currently the secretary of the Central Election Commission and ex-adviser to President Igor Dodon and with Adrian Lebedinschi, a Socialist lawmaker.
In 2009, Fadei Nagacevschi represented the Cypriot-based off-shore company HB Strenton Ltd. in the 99% takeover of Moldovan company Vesma-Teh SRL from Socialist lawmaker Alla Dolință. The Moldovan company owned the building that hosts the Socialists Party (PSRM). HB Strenton Ltd. in turn is owned by other two off-shore companies which were mentioned in the Panama Papers leaks.
Fadei Nagacevschi joined the ranks of Socialists’ lawyers after the 2015 local elections. Prior to the February 2019 parliamentary elections he appeared at public events speaking as PSRM’s official lawyer. When the Socialists formed the government with the ACUM bloc and ousted the Democrats from power, Mr. Nagacevschi was proposed to become an adviser to Zinaida Grecianii, the new chair of the Parliament and the party’s official leader.
In November 2019 the Socialists and Democrats dismissed the cabinet of Maia Sandu and Fadei Nagacevschi filled in the vacancy of Justice Minister as part of a cabinet led by Ion Chicu - himself a former adviser to Zinaida Grecianii.
