It is a company based in the breakaway region of Transnistria and is active mainly in the business related to the transportation and supply of natural gas from the Russian concern Gazprom to Balkan region countries and Turkey.

Since its inception, Tiraspoltransgaz-Transnistria has been a property of the unrecognized government in Tiraspol. Officially, the last organization to take hold of this company - in 2018 - is the so-called Ministry of Economic Development.

The company runs five branches - in Tiraspol, Bender, Ribnita, Dubasari, Slobozia, and employs around 1,600 manpower. It is one of the enclave’s ten largest tax-payers.
