His entire professional career has been connected to the Chisinau International Airport, where he started as a legal consultant. In 2003 he became the general manager of Avia Invest SRL, a firm that took over the airport on concessional conditions for 49 years following a non-transparent contest with a sole bidder.
Petru Jardan is also a vice-chairman of Milsami Orhei - a football club owned by Ilan Shor. The latter was sentenced to seven years and six months of prison for a major role in a 2014 bank fraud that stripped Moldova of more than one billion dollars. Jardan’s wife, Alexandra Bogdan, is closely connected with Milsami Orhei, too; she managed its finances from the post of chief accountant.
The February 2019 elections propped Mr. Jardan in securing a seat in Parliament on the national list of the Shor Party; he is the deputy leader of the fraction.
