A doctor in law, in July 2019 Serghei Turcan earned his Constitutional Court entry ticket from the High Council of Magistrates (CSM) where he had acted as a member until then. Some time earlier he sat in the board for selection and career of judges, a CSM structure. He had also worked in the High Council of Prosecutors and in the past 12 years Mr. Turcan had been part of the scientific advisory board of the Constitutional Court, as his CV reveals.
Since 2003 Serghei Turcan lectures at the National Intelligence and Security Institute, which trains officers for the domestic security service SIS. In 2016 he was awarded a Cooperation Medal from SIS. The same year he received a Civic Merit Medal from then President Nicolae Timofti for his role in the education sector.
