She holds a degree in social assistance from the State University of Moldova (USM) and completed a master’s course at the Academy of Public Administration. Since 2017, Ersilia Qatrawi has been enrolled as a law student at USM.
Her professional career started in 2004, the year she got hired as a social assistant at the Chisinau Center for Homeless. One year later, Mrs. Qatrawi took over a similar job at the town hall of Stefan Voda.
In 2009, she was elected as the mayor of Stefanesti, a village in Stefan Voda District. In 2012, one year after completion of her mayoral term, Mrs. Qatrawi founded a firm called Qatrawi SRL, which she ran until 2015. In 2015 she joined the Moldovan Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and participated in the local elections for a new mandate in Stefanesti; she won the vote again.
In 2017, Ersilia Qatrawi joined the ranks of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), where she found many former PLDM fellows, and became a candidate from the ACUM bloc (PAS + Dignity and Truth Party) at the autumn 2019 local elections. She kept her mayoral seat in Stefanesti.
At the early parliamentary elections in July 2021 Mrs. Qatrawi was elected as a lawmaker in the PAS faction and dropped her post in Stefanesti.
