The career of Iurie Bejenaru started in 1991 at the Buiucani District Court in Chisinau, as a consultant. In 1994, he was appointed a judge at the same institution and ten years later he emerged as its chairman. For one year he had served as its deputy chairman. Then in 2008 Mr. Bejenaru got promoted to the Supreme Court of Justice.

The name of Iurie Bejenaru could be found in a list of magistrates who are responsible for the condemnation of Moldova at the European Court of Human Rights. Most known is the case Ghimp and Others vs. Moldova, in which Moldovan citizens complained of torture while in police custody - a person died, while the investigation was ineffective. The Strasbourg-based court awarded more than 100,000 euros in damages to the family.
